At Friday's concert we will also have all the information on next season (which begins in September with a special guest of Howard Shelley the concert pianist and his friends which will launch teh piano for its first concert in St Mawes (at the Memorial Hall there on 25th September.

You will be able to subscribe to next year as a Member for the bargain price of £18 this Friday

A Video can be found here of the Fund-Raising campaignfor  the "Piano Circle".  Join the 88 donors who subscribed to a piano key and support the transport, tuning and maintenance of the piano.  Thsi summer the piano will not only be heard in Gerrans on Friday, but in North Hill Church in Music on the Moor (with Jeremy Menuhin); at St Endellion Festival in all the main concerts in the church, and at the Nova Festival in St Austell in July.  The piano is truly "A Grand Piano for Cornwall for All to Enjoy"

While we have raised the funds we need continuing support for the PIano Circle to keep the piano out and about in Cornwall and thrilling many many more.  Prussia Cove/IMS also had the piano for its events in Prussia Cove in April this year.

    Naissance - Oh Come Emmanuel

Naissance “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” Jazz Duo Jon Lloyd (sax) & John Laws Live

“Naissance” is the new project from the duo of Britain’s leading jazz/classical musicians Jon Lloyd (saxophone) and John Law (piano). The music spans classical, jazz, ambient and subtle textural samples and will engage audiences from all tastes. Both are musicians and composers with more that 50 recordings to their names and performance credits demonstrating long associations with many of the leading players in the British contemporary music and jazz firmament– Tim Garland, Jason Rebello, Evan Parker, Barry Guy and the London Sinfonietta

Their most recent project which was performed live in Cornwall was the ambient work “Renaissance” – an improvised work using looping derived from sacred vocal texts with live visuals designed by Patrick Dunn (of Tangerine Dream fame) and which was performed in Truro Cathedral in 2023. This new project “Naissance” will also use the warm and vibrant ambience of visually stunning and reverberant church spaces but on a much more intimate level. This performance takes place in the tranquil, waterside Norman church of St Just in Roseland which is set in what was described by Sir John Betjeman as “ to many people the most beautiful churchyard on earth”

This performance of Naissance takes place appropriately just before Christmas – it will feature a new composition based on the wonderful ancient Advent Hymn “Veni, veni Emmanuel” (Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel) and audiences of all ages are invited to come and immerse themselves in music that is both contemplative and inspiring.
